Long time volunteer fire team member for the Vavenby Volunteer Fire Department, Charlotte Cederholm is retiring from the department at the end of April 2024 will be very missed by the members and other fire teams in the valley according to fire chief, Phil Weber and wife Alison.

Cederholm first started working with the Vavenby Volunteer Fire Department in 1973. She was a fire department member and then after 1976 mostly served in administration and dispatch areas.

Cederholm has dedicated countless hours keeping the fire hall running, being on call and working with multiple chiefs over the years. She has been a strong pillar in the fire hall and the community of Vavenby.

VVFD members view this dedicated team member as a “supreme” volunteer not only with the fire department but as a volunteer for a variety of groups and events in the valley which include the role as president for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #259.
