Saluting volunteers: Wells Gray Community Forest Corporation, Society

Wells Gray Community Forest Corporation and Wells Gray Community Forest Society holds a public information and input session in the fall. The Corporation participates in the local Career Fair with the goal of building capacity in forestry. Procedures to apply for both boards are an advertisement in the local media when director positions are vacant. Any Wells Gray resident with the required experience that will balance the boards needed skills and experience can apply. The mission of the Community Forest is to manage, harvest, protect and expand the timber and non-timber resources of the Community Forest in a professional, balanced, sustainable, and transparent fashion for the benefit of the community.

Through the effective management of the Community Forest, provide social and economic benefits to the Wells Gray Country residents, including the District of Clearwater.

The corporation holds a public information and input session in the fall. The Corporation participates in the local career fair with the goal of building capacity in forestry.

The Society holds two grant application cycles per year, one in the spring for $100,000 and one in the fall for $50,000.
